How Page Views Are Calculated

Monitoring packages are based on the number of monthly page views among every active monitoring job in your account. When you create a new script, we will tell you how many page views it uses, which you can use to determine which package you need.

Generally a page view is exactly that: a page view. But with the advent of AJAX, a "page view" is tougher to define. When in doubt, don't hesitate to contact our support team, as they can sometimes lower the page view count for your scripts, saving you even more!

Understanding Frequency and Locations

The more locations you monitor from, the more page views you'll use up. Similarly, the more frequent you monitor, the more page views you'll use. For example, if you are checking two pages every 15 minutes from three locations, then you will use up six page views every 15 minutes, 24 page views per hour, and 17,280 page views per month (24 x 24 hours x 30 days).

It's important to note that the frequency is on a per-location basis and that checks are spread evenly among each location. That means that if you are checking every 15 minutes from three locations, your site will be checked on average every five minutes. This ensures that your site is getting uniquely checked evenly throughout the day.
